Delete a Student

Goal

Delete a student record that was added by mistake and should not stay in BassemLabs.

This is most useful during waitlist cleanup. For example, a parent may accidentally add the same child more than once, or a school may find a waitlist record that should not continue through admissions.

In that case, first mark the student as Rejected, then delete the rejected student record.

Where to go

  1. Open the student's profile.
  2. Go to Overview.
  3. Click Delete Student.

Who can delete

Only organization super admins can delete students.

The button only appears when the student is eligible for deletion.

Use this flow when a waitlist student was added by mistake:

  1. Open the student from the Waitlist page.
  2. Reject the student.
  3. Open the student's profile.
  4. Click Delete Student.
  5. Type the student's full name to confirm.
  6. Click Delete Student.

Rejecting first is important because it makes the admissions outcome clear before the record is removed.

When deletion is available

Deletion is available when:

  • the student is Rejected
  • the student is not connected to another school year
  • the student has not moved into real school activity

If the student has enrollment, class, payment, account, or other school history, BassemLabs blocks deletion. In those cases, use the normal student status workflow instead.

Confirming deletion

Before deleting, BassemLabs asks the admin to type the student's full name.

The Delete Student button stays disabled until the name matches. This extra step helps prevent accidental deletion.

What gets removed

When deletion succeeds, BassemLabs removes the mistaken student record and related waitlist/onboarding records.

Eligible waitlist invoices are also removed.

When not to use delete

Use Withdraw instead when the student was enrolled or has real school history.

Delete is for rejected student records that should not remain in the system.
